24 movie?...Interesting

I guess there is some talk of actually doing a 24 movie. That would be cool to see on the big screen but I don't know exactly how they will deal with the whole "events occur in real time" aspect. This is a preliminary idea "One of the ideas currently being tossed around would have half the film transpire like a normal movie with the real-time gimmick kicking in with an hour left in the movie."

Lazyness...

Yeah, I have been lazy and haven't posted anything here is a while. Well I will be updating the blog as much as possible next week when I go on vacation (mainly with photos). My boss was nice enough to let me off work this coming week to go on vacation with my family (even though I have only worked here for 4 months). The only catch is I will also be working on a couple of projects for work while away. This shouldn't be difficult to do though because I will have my laptop, internet access (either by free wi-fi or by slow netzero dialup[free 10 hrs/month, which I can ration out]). That combined with the fact I will have my cell phone with me he said that I could go on vacation. It may be a little odd spending some vacation time doing work, but hey I will be on the coast in Aptos, CA (South of Santa Cruz, CA). Really though I think I could be even more effective with the project since I won't be restricted by the 8-5pm day as well as I won't have to worry about getting up early (which makes me think I will be doing much of my work in the evenings). It will be nice though to get out of town for a week. But anyways, that is about all I have to say for now. Depending on internet speeds I will try and upload a lot of cool pics I take from the trip....

Fun Car Issues

First, this isn't actually to do with my car but the two cars my parents drive.

This is a bit after the fact but a couple of weeks ago when my brother was putting his bike in the garage he saw a car driving slowly down the street. All of the sudden he hears a loud scraping noise and tires peeling out. Apparently that person had clipped the side of one of our cars putting a nice dent in the side, bending back the side-view mirror, and even denting and popping off the hubcap. The person then preceded to speed off right through a 4-way stop without stopping. My brother was unable to get a license plate number. It just bugs me that someone would just drive off like that and not take responsibility. Here is a lovely picture of the side of the car:

Then when you think that is all that can happen, last week my mom parked her car in the Raley's parking lot near Folsom Blvd and then took the train from there downtown for a haircut. Apparently during broad daylight someone decided to comepletely bash out the back windshield. Now I could see that happen if the car was parked there overnight or something, but this was in the middle of the day in a very busy parking lot (somewhere between 10-1). Fun stuff. Here is a picture of that as well:

Now that I am done, venting, back to work...

The 4th, etc.

Went with A.J. and my brother to Cal Expo and faced the crowds to watch the 4th of July fireworks show. It was cool though I realized it's more of a tradition to watch them but I guess I'm so used to it now that it isn't that spectacular to me much anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather see that then the run of the mill kind you buy at the fireworks booths. Surprisingly though it didn't take long to get home really as we went around the crowds (that and I think the crowd is getting a bit smaller since they also have the fireworks show downtown each year as well).

On the Saturday before went with A.J. and my brother to see War of the Worlds. It was entertaining and better than most of the crap that comes out now-a-days in the theaters. It wasn't spectacular but it did get the point across though the aliens did surprisingly look very similar to the ones in Independance Day. I still liked Batman more. I guess the next movie I will be checking out will be The Fantastic 4. It looks pretty good though my expectations aren't really that high. I never really paid attention to Fantastic 4 growing up. I was much more into Spiderman, Batman, and X-men...especially since all were in Saturday morning cartoon form. Guess I will check it out and see how it is.
